The paint is original and in excellent condition, the engine fires smoothly with 150 psi compression in all 4 cylinders

Here I have for sale a 1989 Lotus Eclat excel in white with tan cloth interior. The clock is showing 78K miles. I pulled this out of the garage myself, this one has been stood for about 3 years, it was a running vehicle when parked. This is a very special little car that was designed by a ex lotus engineer in the early 70's. The chassis is of a tubular space frame type and the body work is GRP. The bonnet was designed from a Lotus 23 and adapted slightly to make the head lights a little higher. The front suspension is early Triumph, Herald etc. The engine is from a VW type 3 and a VW gearbox. you are looking at a very genuine lotus Elan plus 2 s 130 / 4 speed. new spyder chassis fitted to the vehicle but not been used, just stood in a dry garage. i believe these are not available at the moment but cost around £2500 to £3000. so at recent junk prices on eBay for plus 2 cars you are only buying a chassis ripe for a zetec and 5 speed conversion or your choice of conversion??the proper ford / lotus engine mounts are with the car but other engine mounts for various engines are available... more
