This is a very special little car that was designed by a ex lotus engineer in the early 70's. The chassis is of a tubular space frame type and the body work is GRP. The bonnet was designed from a Lotus 23 and adapted slightly to make the head lights a little higher. The front suspension is early Triumph, Herald etc. The engine is from a VW type 3 and a VW gearbox. Here for sale is my late 49 early 50 split window beetle Imported from Sweden in 1996 I??ve spent time stripping grey primer and red oxide from the car to reveal the original L51 bordeux red paint below. Just returned from back-to-bare-metal bodywork renovation (gutters and sills mainly). Finished in VW Pastel White all over (VW Code L90D)
Interior clearly needs finishing - on the plus side all the body is available for inspection
Likewise underside has not been undersealed so you can see exactly what you are getting.
